Welding training starts!

last week, it was our group to go for gas welding.sadly, having not enough gas we were only able to watch our instructor show how to weld a metal with gas welding technique. this week, its my group turn to go for arc welding. the skills for arc welding are simple. in my understanding, to weld a metal with arc welding is like lighting a match.here are some of the picture of us welding.

Brief explanation about gas welding and arc welding

its the day of the week! we are all going to the workshop again, last time we could not do anything becausse most of us did not wear the appropriate equipment to begin our work in the workshop. but this time, its different, all of us spent our own money for the sake of learning what engineer really do. we were splitted up to two groups, one group goes to the gas welding area and the other group went to the arc welding area.

 picture on the left is a place where the gas that were kept for gas welding. as you can see, all five tanks are connected together. in my understanding, this is done because, why use one tanks for just one student when you can connect all the tanks for all the student to use

again, the left picture is a place use for gas welding. since there are quite a little gas to use for welding, our instructor will only be able to show us demo.

THE MKJB RAYA CELEBRATION EVENT

Alhamdullilah, the Raya event was a successful, the was no error, all the instructors were please by our effort. All of the students were also having fun and non of them complaint about anything,the food was delicious and for entertainment one of our senior bought his karaoke equipment to entertain the instructor and also the students. here are the picture of the Raya event.

RAYA CELEBRATION PREPARATION

Its the time of the year where all of  us Marine engineering student from ND1 and ND2 decorate and making preparation for the upcoming MKJB Raya celebration.

FIRE FIRE!! FIRE DRILL

Like every common schooling days, all of us were waiting for the instructor to arrive and have our lesson. Then one of my colleague were horsing around about a fire and also there were rumors that the instructor having a meeting. Then suddenly, the fire bell rang and shocked us all. All of us started to mumble and asking each other what happen. Unanimously, we all decided to go to the parking lot.

Here we are waiting with all the other courses. Then, one of the instructor started to clap his hand and congratulate for taking quite a small amount of time to group up. They told us that it was just a fire drill test.

A NEW YEAR

Assalam, last year after the last phase test, I've known that i didn't make it because i failed three of my subject which has cost me a year to repeat the ND1. This year however, i will try to change my old way and will make a better to pass through this ND1.

Messing up the Diesel Engine

here are the 4th time we are sent to the workshop to disassemble things. On this week we are given a task to disassemble a Diesel engine. Again, i became the drawer or more like taking a picture of the engine and taking notes on the steps of disassembling the engine. here are the photos

This week we are oing a maintenance on two-stage compressor. for this week i have became a drawer which my job is to draw the compressor and take notes on the steps to do a maintenance on the compressor.

KNOWING OUR OWN COUNTRY

Its been awhile for us(the students) to visits some of our own country heritage. We were taken to visits the Brunei "peralatan di raja musium" where all the rare and valuable eqiupment which are belong to the royal family of Brunei Darussalam. UGAMA PRESENTATION

our instructor or ustaz were given us a task to create a slides on heresy. Heresy is a wrong way or deviate away from the true religion. It was an interesting topic on how we as students researching the heresy around the world also in our own country. here are one of the group presenting the heresy to the whole class.

LECTURE ON THE MKJB SURAU

we were told to go to the surau to listen a lecture from an ustaz. The lecture starts at 2:00 pm. the ustaz were lecturing about life and spiritual journey. here are some pictures of the lecture

EXAM IS COMING

upcoming May will be the 3 phase test for us ND 1. Its hard to focus with a lot of assignment and report need to be done and also to do our revision for the exam.

GET MESSY AT THE WORKSHOP

this week on the marine workshop we are given a task to do a maintenance on a centrifugal pump where we will figure out how it works and how to do a maintenance on it.

ASSIGNMENTS AND MORE ASSIGNMENTS

lots and lots of assignment were given this month and our exams are just around the corner. Most of us were not satisfied with this kind of situation but for it helps us to work under pressure and under a limited amount of times. the assignment that were given are Workshop Theory, researching on how lathe work and all related with it. 2 engineering drawing assignments, research on assembly drawing and cam. REVISING FOR EXAMS

With alots of work,report and assignment we were also have to confront our exam which are place in the month of may which are just around the corner. Less time and under pressure keeps all the student on low moral to study. here are one of the student forcing himself to study even with a little amount of time given.

It's cleaning TIME!

the schedule has been set and it is our(marine engineering group A) turn to clean up the surau. My apologies because I didnt remember when this was taken place but i am most certain that it was on the month of February. Basically, the boys cleaned the outside of the surau and the girls cleaned the inside of the surau.

During our period of workshop,our instructor gave us a task. Which is maintenance a valve. We were told to dismember the valve parts and do some cleaning and also be able to repair any scratches or damage on the valve.After all of that is done, we put the pieces together and test it with water to see any leakage. If there is no leakage then the maintenance is complete.

we were told to go to the hall theater to watch our marine engineer senior doing their presentation. Some of the important people came to see their presentation about their final project.

Openday at MKJB

Openday at MKJB where all young and spirited people came to search their option course. Lots of people from far end of the country just to learn and get ready for a piece of MKJB.

We were given a task by our instructor to create our own poster which are base on Brunei Darussalam or marine life. My group chose to create a poster bae on Brunei Darussalam. We were given for a about a week to create the poster. Alhamdullilah,we abled to finished our job.

IGT assignment

During the final year holiday, our instructor, we call him "sir izzy"(sorry if wrong spelling) given us an assignment about the gas turbine. It is quite hard to make the assignment because of lack of knowledge about the topic. But with the help of friends and my senior colleague, it is quite easy.
